Artist Tom Sachs’ fiancée, Sarah Hoover, had a fashion emergency during the Aspen Art Museum’s three-day ArtCrush Friday. The Gagosian Gallery staffer broke her heel before a NetJets luncheon to honor Sachs with the Aspen Award at luxe Dancing Bear resort, sending the art insider and Sachs in search of a local shoe repair. “They were shocked when the concierge told them the nearest one was 45 minutes away,” a source said. “Heidi Zuckerman Jacobson, the museum’s director, told them, ‘I always say the only two things we don’t have in Aspen are the ocean and a shoe repair,’” adding she takes her heels to New York for fixing. Luckily Aspen does have a Prada store. Also at the event were Salon 94 gallerist Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn and top New York collectors Beth Rudin DeWoody and Amy Phelan. We hear that Sachs — whose work is famously interactive — was inspired enough by the incident that he’s tinkering with putting a shoe repair into his upcoming show at Aspen’s Baldwin Gallery.
