While Jessica Alba admits that she and husband Cash Warren might not be "as spicy as our spontaneous pre-kiddo days," the actress shares that they "keep the romance alive" by making time for each other every day.
In an new essay for iVillage.com, Alba shares a few tricks that keep her relationship going nine years in, despite the stress of having a 3-year-old and an 8-month-old.
"It’s hard to imagine what life is going to be like after your first baby, not to mention your second! Diapers are a certainty. Sleepless nights, coffee, and concealer (lots of it) are probably guaranteed too," writes Alba. "Having time to see a movie or enjoy a glass of wine by yourself -- let alone with your husband -- before your kids head off to college? I know -- it feels like an impossibility or a far-off dream."
Alba goes on to explain that she picked up a vital tip from a friend with two children -- get both the kids on a 7 p.m. bedtime schedule.
"A family schedule is the key to making time for each other," continues Alba. "Whether we’re settling into the couch to watch bad reality television or getting a babysitter so we can enjoy a date night out, we always know we have dedicated time after the girls are asleep to catch up, discuss what’s on our minds, and simply just be with each other (no cell phones or e-mail allowed!)."
The couple abide by the rule that no matter how tired they are, they spend time just the two of them. Alba says that this to her is true romance.
"I don’t think romance is always about swinging from chandeliers," she writes.Follow @PageSix
