A 15-year-old boy died after falling into the choppy currents of the East River last night, sources said.

Police received a 911 call at 8:15 p.m. for a teen who fell from the promenade near the FDR Drive and East 105th Street, into the chilly water, cops said.

Harbor Units and the FDNY rushed to the scene and performed CPR on the boy.

He was taken to Metropolitan Hospital, where he later died, authorities said.

It was not clear last night how the teen fell.
