Celebrate Mother’s Day with a trip to the zoo, where mamas and their babies show each other love in NYC’s animal kingdom.

Baby Margaret, born March 10, is living large with her nurturing mama, also named Margaret — all of the zoo’s female giraffes are named Margaret and all of the males are named James, after Margaret and James Carter, benefactors of the Carter Giraffe Building. Baby Margaret arrived at more than 100 pounds and 6 feet tall, and could stand and stumble within 10 minutes.
